Mason Resident Awarded for Volunteer Service
Shriners Hospitals for Children® Recognizes Volunteer for Pet Therapy Program - Nov 2010
Mason resident Glenna Mockbee received the Henry Johnson, Sr. Memorial Volunteer Award for her work at Shriners Hospitals for Children® – Cincinnati. Mockbee has been involved at the pediatric hospital for more than 14 years. She coordinates and oversees all aspects of the pet therapy program for the hospital.
Mockbee was taken off guard when presented with the award, which is named after a long-serving volunteer, Henry Johnson, Sr., who passed away several years ago. “For once in my life I was speechless,” said Mockbee on receiving the award at the hospital’s annual volunteer recognition dinner. “My work is so gratifying, working with the patients and the dog handlers. I am so thankful for the opportunity to work with such wonderful people.”
